Hey friends<\/p>\n

Sometimes I feel like I don’t have as much time to do small crafts anymore and when I do it typically involves playing with play doh or those little craft-in-a-bag projects you can get for $1. I guess that’s life with two? But, it’s spring break for my kiddo and we have had a lot of free time.<\/p>\n

\"Easter<\/p>\n

I’ve been wanting to try out some non-traditional Easter egg decorating ideas and these splatter painted eggs satisfied that craving perfectly. I used blue paint so they work nicely with my usual decor and they are a fun break from the traditional spring or Easter colors.<\/p>\n

This was a very easy project and really only took a few minutes.<\/p>\n

\"Easter<\/p>\n

You’ll need some craft easter eggs<\/a>, some cheap nail polish, a plastic bowl (that you can toss out) and some sort of tool to twirl your eggs around. I used a skewer stick and the little dipper tool that came with my set of craft eggs.<\/p>\n

To start, fill your bowl with some warm water. Pour in your nail polish. I poured in probably less than a quarter of the bottle.<\/p>\n

Using the skewer stick, stir the polish into the water, then drop in one of the eggs.<\/p>\n

Use your tool to twirl it around in the water, even submerging it if you’d like.<\/p>\n

Once it gets some nice coloring on all sides, remove and allow it to dry.<\/p>\n

Between eggs, stir the water getting the bits of polish off the bottom of the bowl.

Towards the end we tossed in a couple eggs at a time and that worked fine too!

Here’s how they turned out. Pretty cute, I think!<\/p>\n

This was a really fun project to get the kids involved in. It was fairly short so it kept them interested through the whole thing. There was very little mess so not much cleanup and it was fun for Peighton to see the polish mix into the water and create that marbled splattery look on the easter eggs.<\/p>\n
