Every Friday I&#8217;ll be sharing a DIY project right here on the blog. It&#8217;s so easy to make.&nbsp;I was able to make this blanket in less than an hour and that was with about 432 breaks to get water for a child, crayons for a child, stop a child from writing on my desk with Sharpie, etc. You could do this in half the time I&#8217;m sure!<\/p>\n<p><em>For your convenience, this post may contain affiliate links. I decided to use three different colors of yarn to make my pom poms. You&#8217;ll also need to grab a basic blanket to add your pom poms onto. The GURLI throw from IKEA is under $10 and is what I used for this blanket. For size reference, it&#8217;s 47&#215;71.<\/p>\n<p>Once your pom poms are read &#8211; lay your blanket out and place your pom poms where they&#8217;ll go. I eyeballed this but I would say they were about 5 to 6 inches apart. Next, thread your yarn needle with some coordinating yarn.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9183\" src=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-1.png 700w, https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-1-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Starting from the back of the blanket, push your needle through completely, next push the needle through the pom pom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-2.png 700w, https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-2-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Go back through the pom pom and back through the blanket, now on the front side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9181\" src=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-3.png 700w, https:\/\/www.makinghomebase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Pom-Pom-Blanket-Tutorial-3-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, you&#8217;ll tie a knot onto the back side of the blanket.
